Hi, I’m Jani Grala Plummer. I completed a Master’s Degree in Architecture at the University of Pretoria – working in Cape Town (Boogertman) and Johannesburg (Co-Arc International) before launching my boutique practice GRALARCH as a SACAP Registered Professional Architect.

As professional architects, we have been given this beautiful gift and responsibility of creating spaces which allow people to feel deeply. I believe in architecture as a form of art with complex layers of technology and sculptural qualities which intertwine to sit comfortably in the landscape it inhabits. 
Each project has unique potential as it is positioned to an adjacent environment with existing conditions. The true power of architecture lies in realizing/researching what this dormant potential is. 

On my personal journey – as a contextual regionalist I observe the greater landscape, the local people, contours, streets/veins/arteries, trees, existing typologies and heritage to the micro-scale of dominant organisms and insects. Every project, no matter how small, has the potential to create a powerful intersection that will feed new energy into the urban fabric.
